Exciting news for Term 3

I know there have been many people eagerly awaiting to hear this announcement so I will jump straight in...

It's with much excitement that we can let you all know that in Term 3 we are now able to open enrolments to new students... Woo Hoo!! How exciting!!

To those of you who have enquired about new student enrolments over the last few months, we thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through how this next phase might look for the College.

We were really wanting to ensure that the process was going to be as smooth and safe as possible. This has meant making a few big changes which we are excited to say are now complete.

So what does that mean and how will it all look now?

Yes, I hear you all asking with excitement. As of today, you will see that there is now a New Student Enrolment form on the home page of our website. This online form allows anyone over the age of 18 and living in the ACT and surrounds, to submit a New Student Enrolment form.

Once we receive the new enrolment, we will process the record and then be in touch via email with details on the next phase of the enrolment process, the New Student Well-being and Orientation. This will entail completing some online forms (adapted from our previous paper versions that would have been completed in house). Once these have been completed and submitted, one of the lovely staff from the Student Services will be in touch to arrange a Meeting.

This meeting will be conducted in one of a few ways:

  • over video conferencing

  • over the phone, and

  • as a last resort, in person (where technology is a challenge)

Anyone wishing to attend classes in Term 3 will need to have completed their New Student Enrolment, their Student Well-being and Orientation forms and meeting as well as attended a minimum of 2 x Social Connection sessions prior to the Term 3 classes starting.

The reason we are asking New Students to attend two Social Connection calls is to ensure they are familiar with using Zoom prior to classes starting, to get to know the College staff and have the opportunity to ask questions. If you need assistance on how to get on to one of the Social Calls, please don't hesitate to contact the staff at the College. There are some Zoom Cheat Sheets on our website, under Student Resources and there is direct links to the Social Connection calls via the Social Connection tab of the website as well.

So what's on offer next Term? Well Twisty is working like a busy beaver, around the clock preparing the Term 3 calendar and schedule for you all. We will endeavour to have it out to you all as soon as we possibly can. We are excited about a few new courses that have been long in development that will be ready for delivering next Term, so watch this space...

Quick, let me squeeze you a small hint...

Sshhh!!! Stay Zen... ;)
